Bullying and intimidation claims at Tallaght Hospital

Formal complaint of whistleblower intimidation from a second emergency department consultant being investigated

Claims of bullying have been made by Tallaght hospital staff

Tallaght Hospital is investigating a formal complaint of whistleblower intimidation from a consultant in the hospital’s emergency department.

The consultant involved, Dr Jean O’Sullivan, made the complaint a number of years ago. O’Sullivan raised the matter with Minister for Health Leo Varadkar last year.

Varadkar instructed the board of the hospital to investigate. The hospital said an investigation into bullying and harassment was “in process.”
