Barchester adds Brighterkind nursing homes to portfolio in £160m deal

Irish-owned care home provider buys 24 properties from Terra Firma

Barchester employs around 17,000 staff across a portfolio of nursing homes

Barchester Healthcare, the care home giant owned by Irish billionaires Dermot Desmond, JP McManus and John Magnier, is set to acquire a group of 24 nursing homes in Britain, it has confirmed.

A deal has been agreed at £160 million to buy the homes, branded under the name Brighterkind, from private equity magnate Guy Hand’s Terra Firma Capital Partners.
