Varadkar must explain why open disclosure plans have been scrapped

IPA says it is "very disappointed" by u-turn on critical patient safety initiative

The Irish Patients Association (IPA) has called on Minister for Health Leo Varadkar to publish the evidence that supports the decision to abandon mandatory open disclosure of mistakes to patients.

The IPA - a patient advocacy group - said evidence to support the u-turn was "not forthcoming".
