Medical bodies back secret Portlaoise hospital cuts
The controversial plan for Portlaoise hospital was submitted to the Department of Health in December 2016
Major medical bodies support plans to close the emergency department and stop complex care at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.
The Irish Association for Emergency Medicine, the College of Anaesthetists and the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists said they believed complex care should cease at the hospital.
