HSE gave contract to former manager’s company without going to public tender

The HSE confirmed that it had not contacted its national procurement unit to advertise on the contract to provide day services in Drogheda and Dundalk for people with disabilities

The HSE awarded a contract to a company run by one of its former senior managers without putting it out to public tender.

It hired Inspire Wellbeing to provide day services in Drogheda and Dundalk for people with disabilities. The company’s director of services is former HSE operational manager for primary care services in Louth Willie McAllister.
