HSE in dark about foetal anomaly scans

Obstetricians have repeatedly expressed concern about the lack of access to ultrasound

The HSE has admitted it does not know the number of 20-week foetal anomaly scans being carried out in Irish hospitals, or have figures for the number of ultrasound machines in maternity hospitals.

The failure to provide basic information will raise further questions about the government’s commitment to implement the maternity strategy.
