Hiring concerns continue as hospitals fail to attract more than one candidate for posts

Dublin’s voluntary hospitals received just one or no applicants at all for approximately one in every six hospital consultant posts advertised in 2016, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

Twelve hospitals provided comprehensive figures showing that 15 posts advertised out of 88 received one applicant or none at all. While the figures will heighten concern about difficulties in recruiting and retaining doctors, the hospitals managed to fill almost all posts advertised in 2016. ...
