It has emerged that Minister for Health Simon Harris wants to team up with a group of EU countries to negotiate better drug prices.

It is understood that Harris will ask the government to approve his intention to formally signal Ireland’s interest in joining an existing collaboration between four countries, known as the BeNeLuxA Initiative on drug pricing and supply. The four countries are Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Austria.
