Government won’t cut Portlaoise hospital services
Department of Health is currently considering proposals that would see closure of emergency department
Services will not be withdrawn from Portlaoise Hospital in the lifetime of this government, despite ongoing safety concerns.
A recent report by the health regulator Hiqa last week found that “significant risks remain” at the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise and that its future is “uncertain”.
