Free GP care for under-12s stalled

The Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) and the National Association of General Practitioners (NAGP) say nothing has been tabled to them on expanding free GP care from the under-sixes to older age groups

No negotiations have taken place on expanding free GP care to the under-12s, despite it being a key commitment in the Programme for Government that was published 18 months ago.

Earlier this year, Minister for Health Simon Harris said he hoped a deal for free GP care for under-12s would be delivered by the end of the year.
