Former social workers paid up to €300k as legal guardians

The child and family agency Tusla paid social workers previously employed by the Health Service Executive as much as €300,000 each last year. The fees were paid to what are known as guardians ad litem (guardians at law) who work as independent court-appointed officers for children likely to be placed in care.
