Cardiac waiting lists ‘must be tackled urgently’

The Irish Heart Foundation has hit out at long waiting lists for critical cardiac tests, describing the delays as a patient safety concern that needs to be “urgently addressed”.

Official figures show that 253 patients were waiting longer than one year to get an angiogram at 14 hospitals, while an additional 693 patients were waiting between six and 12 months.
