Galway needs a new hospital to deal with overcrowding, according to the hospital group’s clinical director.

Dr Pat Nash, clinical director of Saolta University Health Care Group, the west and northwest hospital group, said that University Hospital Galway’s (UHG) emergency department is overwhelmed and needs a new building to cope with the demand.
