Delays in resolving a patent row over a potentially groundbreaking treatment for Alzheimer’s disease will hold back critical investment at a manufacturing plant in Co Cork, the Commercial Court has been told.

US pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly has said it urgently needs commercial certainty in order to press ahead with plans to manufacture a global supply of the medicinal product at its Kinsale facility, which employs 500 people.
