Food journalism in Ireland has been seeing a rebound of late. That’s a good thing in my view, because the rise of the social media foodie has caused a decline in professional food writing and a rise in unethical practices.

The whole food media sphere is dotted with compromised social media influencers, questionable awards ceremonies and accreditation bodies, and click-bait driven ‘news’ platforms.
