Ireland’s Deloitte Best Managed Companies play a vital role in driving economic growth and employment
Now in its 11th year in Ireland, theDeloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, in association with Bank of Ireland, has earned a deserved reputation as the foremost initiative on the island of Ireland rewarding excellence in management abilities and practices across all key business functions.
The network of Best Managed Companies developed in Ireland has grown over the last 11 years to include 136 companies in the North and South.
The success of these companies and the contribution they make to the Irish economy will be recognised at this year’s Deloitte BMC Symposium and Gala event, taking place on Friday, March 1, at the Convention Centre Dublin.
360-degree judging process
The Best Managed Companies judging panel considers companies from every perspective, critiquing management performance and practices under the four pillars of strategy, capability, commitment and financials.
The panel also evaluates companies and their performance in relation to their peers, and the industries that they are operating in, to determine management success. New applicants that are successful, and progress through the awards process, receive customised feedback and coaching from Deloitte and Bank of Ireland.
Their strategy and capabilities are assessed through the coaching process, providing an independent view and validation of their strategic direction.
Widespread recognition
Winners also receive national and peer recognition, the opportunity to network at the gala awards ceremony and attend the symposium organised by the Irish Management Institute.
The “Best Managed” designation is an important marketing tool - but, perhaps most importantly - the awards provide a reason to celebrate the efforts of the entire company.
History & development
The Best Managed Companies Programme originated in Canada in 1993, where it has been run successfully ever since and is the country’s leading business awards programme.
In addition to Ireland and Canada, the programme is also run in The Netherlands, Belgium, Chile, Turkey and Mexico.
