Academics, executives, chief technical officers, politicians and climate change experts came together at the National Power Summit to discuss what needs to be done now to secure a better future. Róisín Kiberd reports

This is a pivotal time for Ireland’s energy sector; our infrastructure is growing and evolving, the technology involved is too, and the regulatory climate has suddenly become complex and unpredictable. Among other obstacles, Brexit casts doubt over our current single electricity market, while climate change – and the targets our government has set in order to address it – necessitates urgent yet cautious change.
