Neven Maguire and Melissa San Miguel join line-up for Food & Drink Industry Summit

The summit will take place in Croke Park on June 12th

One of Ireland's best known chefs, Neven Maguire runs MacNean House, a restaurant and cookery school in the village of Blacklion, Co Cavan.

A former senior director for global strategies at the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) in Washington and one of Ireland's best-known chefs have been added to the line-up for the Food Industry Summit at Croke Park in Dublin on June 12.

Melissa San Miguel developed and implemented trade and global competitiveness strategies for the world's leading food, drinks and consumer product companies during her time at the GMA.

Before joining the association, she served in the US diplomatic service handling trade policy in Latin America and Asia, most recently as special assistant to the under secretary for economic growth, energy and the environment. She is currently head of policy and VP in the US division of the consulting and public affairs firm Red Flag.

At the summit, she will deliver the fireside chat and will speak about global trends in the food and beverage sector.

Also taking part in the event is Neven Maguire. A chef, prolific cookbook author and TV presenter, Maguire runs MacNean House, a restaurant, guesthouse and cookery school in Blacklion, Co Cavan.

Maguire and his wife Amelda have built MacNean House into a thriving business which attracts customers from all around Ireland as well as from overseas. A strong ambassador for Irish food producers, he champions them on his menus, and is also brand ambassador for Dunnes Stores Simply Better.

At the summit, Maguire will be joined by Diarmuid Murphy, brand manager for Simply Better, as well as Catriona Flaherty of What's For Pudding, a Simply Better supplier, to discuss how Irish food producers can go from small beginnings to the shop floor.
