Irish company Modular Automation has acquired an eight-acre site behind its Shannon facility on Smithstown Industrial Estate amid plans to increase production capacity for multinational clients in Ireland and the US.

The company, which creates automation solutions for the global medical device sector, is well regarded by customers, including Johnson & Johnson, Stryker, Boston Scientific and Medtronic.
