Gabriel Allen, deputy principal at the Bray Institute of Further Education (BIFE)

For students worried they haven’t racked up the points to get into the university course of their choice, there’s always a PLC, or post-leaving cert course. Students can embark on a one-year diploma, and go onto pursue study for another year or two at an institute of technology to achieve a level six degree. There are also options for those who would like to take vocational courses and jump into the workplace sooner.
