Digital business promises to usher in an unprecedented convergence of people, business and things which will disrupt existing business models, according to Dublin-based firm Asavie.

Chief executive Ralph Shaw said: “By 2020, 75 per cent of businesses will become or prepare to become a digital business and Asavie is well positioned to play a role as a key enabler of this transformation.

“Two of the key enabling technologies for this digital transformation are the mobile phone and the Internet of Things (IoT). Asavie’s technology enables companies to leverage smartphones, tablets and the IoT in a secure and controlled manner in order that end-user enterprises can use these technologies with confidence.

“Our route to market is via a combination of mobile network operators, resellers and, most recently, a direct enterprise sales force to target particular industry verticals.

“Our mobility service has just received FirstNet Certification from AT&T, an important milestone in the company’s history.”

FirstNet is the first nationwide communications ecosystem dedicated to public safety in the US.

“As one of a limited number of providers into FirstNet, this opens up significant new commercial opportunities for Asavie with our partner AT&T,” said Shaw.

“We are also excited by the possibilities in the UK where we have partnered with O2 to deliver our mobile productivity and security solution to medical practitioners in the healthcare market.”

Asavie has end-user customers across many different industry sectors, including airlines, financial services, healthcare, safe cities, supply chain and energy.

Recent significant partnerships include Asavie signing with leading Asian operator Singtel, which has white-labelled Asavie’s IoT Connect solution.

Verizon in the US is now a partner in North America for both its mobility and IoT product lines, and Asavie is jointly selling with IBM via operators in both Europe and the US. Its Asavie Moda is in the IBM security App Exchange.

Asavie’s headquarters are in Dublin with sales offices in Britain, the Nordic countries, the US, Malaysia and Australia.

The company was founded in Dublin in 2004 and the co-founders of Asavie Technologies are Shaw and chief technology officer Tom Maher.

It has grown dramatically since its foundation, with revenues jumping by 901 per cent between 2012 and 2015, and it has 137 global employees.

Asavie provides two key services. Asavie Moda is a network-based mobility management service that puts companies in control of their mobile data and devices.

“Asavie Moda provides intelligent visibility and control of mobile data and devices to protect organisations from cyber-attacks while providing the tools to make employees productive on the go,” said Shaw.

“It is simple to set up and integrates with all the leading unified endpoint management (UEM) solutions in the market, delivering a comprehensive defence and management ecosystem for enterprises.”

Asavie IoT Connect is an on-demand service to scale and manage IoT networks securely and provides businesses with private network connectivity for cellular IoT devices.

“Self-manage an isolated private network to remove IoT devices from the public internet, eliminating exposure to cyber threats,” said Shaw.

Asavie leverages several key commercial and technical advantages to strengthen its position in the marketplace.

“Our core technology interfaces with the mobile network operators’ core networks and offers a vantage point on the network that our technology offers means that we have are able to expose unique network-layer observations and insights which are valuable to enterprises,” said Shaw.

Asavie is beginning to monetise this intelligence as supplementary reporting and alerting services to the existing offerings.

“Our estate of access point names - private interconnections between our core platform (Asavie PassBridge) and Tier 1 mobile network operators’ core networks - permits us to deliver a business-critical set of secure connectivity services for Mobility (Asavie Moda) and IoT (Asavie IoT Connect) to enterprises in EMEA, North America and APAC,” said Shaw.

The company’s strong partnerships with some of the industry’s leading independent software vendors, cloud service providers and original equipment manufacturers is a source of significant strategic advantage and value creation enabling simple consumption of the Asavie services, credibility, awareness, and sales enablement through our global distribution channels.

“The profile generated through our inclusion initially in the Deloitte Tech Fast 50 and more recently the recognition as one of the Best Managed Companies has contributed to our brand development in both the domestic and international markets,” said Shaw.

“The Deloitte brand name association has helped with our engagement in new territories where the Asavie brand name was new to the prospect.

“Closer to home our association with Deloitte has helped with recruitment and also as a motivator for our management teams.”
