Victor Mee’s forthcoming online sale will be beamed from the Bishops Palace in Kilmore, Co Cavan, a Grecian Revival mansion, home to the Bishops of Kilmore from 1835 until 2000 and the perfect setting for an array of antique furniture spanning three centuries.

There’s a Georgian mahogany side cabinet, its doors lined with pink silk behind brass grills. Possibly made in Cork, it was owned by the Duke of Leinster, one of a pair moved...
