The tracker mortgage scandal has been reignited after the financial ombudsman told AIB to pay compensation to additional customers.
The bank said today that the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman had recently issued a preliminary ruling requiring it to offer redress to customers who may have had the option of going onto a tracker mortgage but were not informed of this.
