The government has launched the Maritime Area Consent regime, calling for the first batch of offshore wind applications and firing the starting gun on Ireland’s ambitious offshore energy targets.

Eamon Ryan, the Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications, launched the offshore permitting procedure on a seabed surveying boat off the coast of Dún Laoghaire this morning.
