Covid-19: ‘This is what endemic looks like’

It’s looking increasingly likely that the coronavirus will stick around for the long term. So what are our government and our health service planning to do to cope with this eventuality?

One of the most crucial sources of Covid-19 health data during the pandemic was an unlikely one., the funeral listing website, acted as an important early red flag on Ireland’s handling of the crisis.

More timely than official government data, the website has consistently provided an accurate assessment of “excess deaths” – the number of people dying in addition to the norm from both Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 related causes.
