Builders to get hundreds of millions in state loans

Home Building Finance Ireland hopes to kick-start projects that may have been stalled by the banks pulling funding

To ensure large housing developments are funded, the agency said it would more than double its maximum loans

The state’s building finance agency is to step in with hundreds of millions of euro in loans to developers to kick-start construction projects that may have been stalled by banks withdrawing funding.

The Home Building Finance Ireland agency said that it was changing the terms of its funding to allow a larger range of builders to access loans, while the size of loans available will also change.
