VC investment in European start-ups still strong
New figures show that while VC investment declined last year, it was still at the second-highest level ever recorded
A total of €91.6 billion was invested into European start-ups in 2022, down 15.9 per cent from the record €108.9 billion reported in 2021 but still considerably higher than in prior years, new figures show.
Data compiled by PitchBook shows that 2022 marked the second-best ever year for VC investment into start-ups in Europe, despite the slowdown that saw tech companies cutting costs and reducing headcount in the second half.
