Sales of used smartphones on rise as buyers look to save cash
Total global sales volume of smartphones last year was up 11.5 per cent on 2021
With more of us watching our pennies, and as the cost of premium smartphones soars past €1,000, research firm IDC is predicting that used smartphone shipments will reach 413.3 million units in 2026.
Environmental concerns linked to regular upgrades is also impacting sales, with many consumers holding off buying new smartphones in favour of purchasing refurbished models instead.
