The National Immunisation Advisory Committee recommended the Covid-19 vaccine for children aged five to 11 years, meaning that 48,000 primary school children will be offered the jab. The vaccine, which is a lower dose than those offered to adults, is expected to land in Ireland soon, and it is likely that the roll-out will begin in earnest in January 2022, though some doses will be administered in the run-up to Christmas.
