Odeon announces staff cuts at its 11 Irish cinemas

Loss-making Irish arm of cinema group faces renewed lockdown in Dublin

In 2018, the Odeon group funnelled €9.5 million into the Irish operation as the company recorded an after-tax loss of €7.7 million

Odeon, the cinema group, has told staff there will be layoffs at its Irish operation.

The company announced the planned redundancies to employees across its British and Irish business last week.

A spokeswoman for Odeon told the Business Post it could not confirm how many layoffs are expected at its Irish company, which has more than 300 staff.
