The dramatic rise in the cost of materials is a potential concern for Irish whiskey companies, especially for smaller distillers, according to Pat Cooney, the founder of the award-winning Boann Distillery.

Cooney told the Business Post that some of the cost rises for his business, which makes whiskey as well as cream liqueur, had been substantial.
