IDA Ireland is continuing to engage with Eirgrid on the “overall availability of energy supply” and is committed to helping companies develop data centre facilities, the agency has said.

The comments come despite the fact that Eirgrid has confirmed that it will not connect new data centres in Dublin until 2028. The national grid operator said that the greater Dublin area was “constrained and any new data centre applications will only be considered...
