Demand for student digs drives sales of purpose-built projects

Over €680 million was invested in PBSA between 2018 to 2021, with a further €80 million worth of deals currently being considered by investors

Increased third-level college places along with growing demand for student accommodation appears to be reflected in the fillip in sales of student accommodation investments over the last six months.

Sandra Walsh of JLL estimates that over €683 million was invested in purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) between 2018 to 2021, and from a buyer perspective the pipeline remains strong with a further €80 million worth of deals currently being considered off-market by potential investors.
