PayPal, when it was founded, was seen very much as both a facilitator of e-commerce and potential challenger to the banks.
While both of these remain the case today, it is also now arguably the incumbent player in FinTech – a term whose coining the company predates.
As such, it comes as little surprise that PayPal not only continues to work on smoothing e-commerce, but is now moving into the non-virtual side of payments.
