Limerick in IBM Smarter Cities Challenge
In 2015, Limerick was selected to participate in IBM’s Smarter Cities Challenge programme. The challenge for Limerick is to develop a strategy that will enable the city to predict and respond to the needs of older people through the better management of shared information.
Launched in 2010, the Smarter Cities Challenge is IBM’s largest philanthropic initiative, with contributions to date valued at more than $66 million (€59m) worldwide.
