With an estimated 45,000 businesses employing more than 280,000 people around the country, Ireland’s retail sector is a significant economic player contributing €5.7 billion annually to the exchequer.

These retailers, three-quarters of which are family-owned, are under increasing pressure to set out their stall online to attract customers for whom shopping has become less about visiting local shops and more about the convenience of buying online.
