Gala Print Awards celebrate today’s excellence and plan for a healthy future

The black-tie awards applauded outstanding work in the country’s print and press sector and looked forward to the creation of the next generation of skilled technicians

While the Irish print industry has been suffering from a shortage of skills, with an average age of skilled technicians within the trade of mid-50s, a new print media technicians programme will provide functional skills for existing and new participants in the industry, Brian Colleran, network manager of the Design, Print and Packaging Skillnet, the training arm of the Irish Printing Federation, told the Irish Print Awards ceremony on May 12.
