Murphy Surveys employs more than 200 people in Ireland and Britain. With bases in Cork, Kildare and Dublin, the company was established in 1983 by the late Peter Murphy, formerly chief surveyor at Tara Mines and Aughinish Alumna.

Murphy was awarded a fellowship of the Institute of Surveyors in recognition of his contribution to the industry.
