Conference ambassadors play a key role in boosting the business tourism sector in Ireland, writes Ruth Wildgust

Business tourism is playing an increasingly important role in the Irish economy with an impressive line-up of association conferences and large international meetings taking place across Irish venues this year.

“The most recent Central Statistics Office stats indicate that business tourism generated €576 million in terms of overall value to Ireland in 2013, a growth of 9 per cent since the previous year,” said Miriam Kennedy, Fáilte Ireland’s head of business tourism and events....
