A year-long feast of gastronomic delights

Following its accolade as a European Region of Gastronomy, Galway is readying itself for a celebration of its food and associated culture

Galway and the west of Ireland have been designated one of two European Regions of Gastronomy (ERG) for 2018.

“We are thrilled to be the first region in Ireland to attain this award, alongside Noord Brabant in the Netherlands,” said Elaine Donohue, European Region of Gastronomy programme lead with Galway County Council.

“From January the ERG designation will kick-start a year-long celebration of our rich landscape, food heritage, people, and multicultural communities,” said Donohue....
