A promising future for apprenticeships

According to Dr Mary Liz Trant, director of the National Apprenticeship Office, there are now over 8,400 Irish employers creating jobs via apprenticeships, with special grants available to encourage more women to sign up

The National Apprenticeship Office, set up jointly by Solas and the Higher Education Authority (HEA), is the lead body responsible for apprenticeships on behalf of the government.

The office is driving implementation of an ambitious Action Plan for Apprenticeship 2021-2025 where it is intended that, by 2025, at least 10,000 apprentices will be registering and getting employment each year.
