Viatel may have undergone a name change and a few moves, but it has never lost sight of its roots, writes Caroline Allen
Viatel was founded in 1997 by Colm Piercy as Digiweb, a web hosting and domain name registration business.
It now delivers bespoke telecom services and solutions to SME enterprise, public sector and wholesale clients in Ireland.
Having started off in a small incubation unit at Dundalk IT, the business evolved into the broadband market on the back of epic growth in satellite and wireless broadband connectivity.
