Agrifood companies may become responsible for the emissions of the farmers that supply them, Eamon Ryan warned last week from the Cop26 climate change conference in Glasgow.

The Minister for Environment was speaking following a meeting with James Shaw, the New Zealand climate minister, on the disclosure of climate risks and environmental accounting, which New Zealand has become the first country in the world to make mandatory in a law passed last month.
