IDA warns Irish Water is adding to businesses’ costs

Body complains that water utility is ‘comparatively inefficient’ in delivering services to Irish consumers

Irish Water’s “cumbersome and expensive” way of operating is imposing extra costs on businesses, the IDA has warned.

It comes after the water regulator ordered Irish Water to reduce its annual running costs by around €50 million over the next five years, which was half its previous proposed cut of €100 million.
