Funds to fuel biomass expansion

Worrell Harvesting, the family-run Laois forestry company, has raised €1.5 million to fund an expansion of its biomass business.

Established in 1992, the company first invested in biomass seven years ago and is now boosting its volumes from 40,000 tons to 100,000 tons per year in 2018 to meet market demand, said Kenneth Worrell, managing director of Worrell Harvesting.
