British pub chain JD Wetherspoon has announced a shift from EU drink products – including champagne from France and German wheat beers – in the run-up to Brexit.

Wetherspoon was founded by chairman Tim Martin, who was a strong Leave supporter in the Brexit referendum campaign. He believes Britain’s economic prospects will improve outside the EU andhas regularly attacked what he described as "unprecedented and irresponsible doom-mongering" by supporters of the Remain side.
