We cannot afford to ‘normalise’ Syrian war

The situation within Syria continues to deteriorate on a daily basis as war rages on, four years after the conflict first ignited.

The current facts and figures on the crisis are simply staggering. Syria now has the largest displaced population in the entire world: 7.6 million people have moved away from conflict areas inside the country, and a further 3.8 million people have fled to neighbouring nations in search of safety. More than 12 million Syrian people need humanitarian assistance, and in excess of 220,000 people have died.
