Waterford Crystal doubled profits in year before sale

The Irish arm of Waterford Crystal more than doubled its profits in the year before it was sold by its private equity owners to a Finnish consumer products giant.

WWRD Ireland made a profit of €2.7 million in the year to April 2015, according to accounts just filed at the Companies Registration Office.

That’s up from €1.1 million in the previous year.
