VW sales start to suffer from emissions scandal
Volkswagen sold 0.8 per cent fewer cars in Europe in October, the company’s first drop in the region since May
Volkswagen lost market share in Europe as its sales declined in October, the first full month since the carmaker’s emissions-cheating scandal became public.
The German manufacturer accounted for 25.2 per cent of new-car registrations in the region last month compared with 26.1 per cent a year earlier, the Brussels-based European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, or ACEA, said.
