Dublin start-up Volograms is developing technology that can capture footage of real people for use in virtual and augmented-reality applications.

“We use several cameras in a studio to capture a real person - for example, an actor performing - and then we use a 3D reconstruction process to create a kind of hologram of that person,” said Rafael Pages, chief executive at Volograms.
